Enrich Your World. Volunteer your time and talent at Hearts & Horses. Volunteers drive the Hearts & Horses program and are indispensable at all levels of the organization. Hearts & Horses believes that every volunteer contribution is immeasurable in it?s worth and value for our organization and, ultimately, our riders. No matter what job you choose to volunteer for at Hearts & Horses, you are an integral part of the team and are greatly valued. Some volunteers bring skills in horsemanship, others bring leadership skills, and others bring understanding and acceptance in helping others to seek fuller, more satisfying lives. Volunteers also bring many new ideas and insight to the program and frequently enlist their friends! Ask any Hearts & Horses volunteer and they will readily state that they gain as much, or more, than they give.

Join us as we go over the different kinds of volunteer roles, how to get into training, what schedules look like, and wrapping up with a tour of the property!

The Murphy Center for Hope and Homeless Gear are looking for community members interested in becoming Housing First Advocates for a brand new program, designed to help people experiencing homelessness in our community find affordable housing and gain self-sufficiency.

Volunteer teams of two will work with our Housing First Initiative Director, in conjunction with the person in need of housing, to create an "Action Plan." Volunteers will help with a "Hands-on Housing Search"- including internet searches for available housing, phone calls to potential landlords, assistance in obtaining necessary documents, and will provide encouragement and support to the person as they navigate the path to self-sufficiency.

Comprehensive training is provided, and Volunteers are backed-up at all times by the Housing First Initiative Director. Hours are flexible and would be approximately 1-5 hour per week, depending on your schedule.

This is a wonderful opportunity to provide tangible, effective assistance to some our community's most vulnerable members, with long-lasting results. If you would like to be a part of this exciting and innovative project, please contact us. Training begins in mid-July, with additional opportunities throughout the year.
